About Us
The iPAT-LAB explores innovative particle acceleration technologies and applications with a particular emphasis on medicine, energy, astrophysics, material science and cultural heritage. The novel applications are based on the acceleration of particles using high-intensity lasers which is a recent growing field of interest since about a decade.
With open curiosity the iPAT-LAB studies where laser-driven particle beam lines can trigger new applications or provide an added value to existing ones. The group, consisting of motivated and talented collaborators coming from different countries and having diverse research backgrounds, works in a distributed and networked way, making benefit of the best facilities available worldwide.
